RCA Tennis Tournament Semi-Final at Indy
Service Game

Never got a chance to see James Blake play, although he hasn't been winning many tournaments as of late, it was always exciting to see his game on TV especially with his powerful groundstrokes.

It just so happens by luck that the RCA tournament semi-final ticket I got featured him on the match pitted against a little know American player Sam Querrey. My luck was pretty bad initially as I: first, left Bloomington a little late, second, got lost in the Indy downtown area before finally making it into the stadium 1/2 hour into the match.

By then, one set already elapsed with Querrey taking the first set 7-6. The game was exciting to watch as Querrey was just simply relentless with dropping serve bombs one after another, ranging from 125 to 135 mph whacks. The crowd was overwhelmingly for Blake with pockets of encouragement shouts for Querrey, yet that didn't help much :(,  James felt a little out of his elements as he was playing, but for my money's worth (plus arriving late), it was great to see the next two sets both going to tie-breakers with Querrey tasting victory at the end. The score standing at 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 to Querrey.

It was an afternoon well spent watching some great tennis!
